കൊച്ചി∙ ഇലക്ട്രിക് വാഹനം വാങ്ങിയാൽ ഇടയ്ക്കു ചാർജു ചെയ്യാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യും? – ഇലക്ട്രിക് വാഹനം വാങ്ങാൻ ആലോചിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരാളെയും പിന്തിരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ചോദ്യം ഇതാണ്. യാത്രയ്ക്കിടെ ഒരു മൊബൈൽ ഫോൺ ചാർജ് ചെയ്യുന്ന ലാഘവത്തോടെ വാഹനം ചാർജു ചെയ്യാനാകുമെങ്കിൽ പ്രശ്നത്തിനു പരിഹാരമായി. ഈ ആശയവുമായി എത്തിയത് കോഴിക്കോട് ഗവണ്മെന്റ് എൻജിനീയറിങ് കോളേജില് നിന്നു പഠിച്ചിറങ്ങിയ രാമന് ഉണ്ണി, ക്രിസ് തോമസ്, വി. അനൂപ്, സി. അദ്വൈത് എന്നീ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളായിരുന്നു. ഇതിനായി സ്റ്റാർട് അപ് കമ്പനിയായി ചാർജ് മോഡ് സ്ഥാപിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചത് 2018ലായിരുന്നു. പരിസ്ഥിതി സൗഹൃദ വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ കാലമാണ് മുന്നിലെന്ന് ഉറച്ചു വിശ്വസിച്ച് സഹപാഠികളായ ഇവർ ഇതിനായി ഹാർഡ്വെയറും സോഫ്ട്വെയറും തയാറാക്കി.

250 community EV charging stations by year-end in Kerala
Electric battery-operated vehicles have not taken off as anticipated by the government though Kerala has hopped onto the electric vehicle (EV) bandwagon to embrace environment-friendly mobility.
The need to frequently charge battery and lack of adequate charging facilities on the go have made e-vehicles a non-starter.
To address this, four youngsters, who passed out from Government Engineering College Kozhikode in 2018 and had set up a start-up ‘chargeMOD’ after seeing the demand for EV, have now come forward to launch 250 EV community charging stations.

അന്തരീക്ഷ മലിനീകരണത്തിനെതിരെ കാര്ബണ് ന്യൂട്രല് രീതി നടപ്പിലാക്കിയ കേരളത്തിലെ ആദ്യ സര്ക്കാര് സമ്മേളനമായി ഐസിജിഇ 2 (ഇന്റര്നാഷണല് കോണ്ഫറന്സ് ഓണ് ജെന്ഡര് ഇക്വാലിറ്റി). ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭ സംഘടനയായ യുഎന് വിമനിന്റെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ സാമൂഹ്യനീതി-വനിത-ശിശുവികസന വകുപ്പിനു കീഴിലുള്ള ജെന്ഡര് പാര്ക്കാണ് ഈ ത്രിദിന അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര സമ്മേളനം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചത്.
ഭൗമോപരിതലത്തിലേക്ക് കാര്ബണ് ഡയോക്സൈഡ് തള്ളുന്നത് കുറയ്ക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഒരു പരോക്ഷ രീതിയാണ് കാര്ബണ് ന്യൂട്രല്. ലോകത്തെമ്പാടും അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഈ രീതി കേരളത്തില് ആദ്യമായി അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത് ഐസിജിഇയാണ്. ഈ സമ്മേളനം മൂലം അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിലേക്കുണ്ടാകുന്ന കാര്ബണ് മാലിന്യത്തിന്റെ നിരക്ക് കണക്കാക്കി യുഎന്എഫ്സിസി(യുണൈറ്റഡ് നാഷന്സ് ഫ്രെയിംവര്ക്ക് കണ്വെന്ഷന് ഓണ് ക്ലൈമറ്റ് ചേഞ്ച്) മാനദണ്ഡപ്രകാരം കാര്ബണ് ക്രെഡിറ്റ് വില നല്കി വാങ്ങുന്നു. അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിലേക്ക് ഐസിജിഇ സമ്മേളനം വഴി തള്ളുന്ന കാര്ബണ് ഡൈ ഓക്സൈഡിന് സമാനമായ ഓക്സിജന് നല്കുന്ന സ്ഥാപനങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഈ തുക നല്കുന്നതാണ് രീതി. അതായത് ഇവിടെ സംഭവിക്കുന്ന മലിനീകരണത്തിന് തത്തുല്യമായ ഓക്സിജന് അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിലേക്ക് നല്കാന് ഈ സമ്മേളനം കാരണമാകുന്നുവെന്ന് ജെന്ഡര് പാര്ക്ക് സിഇഒ ഡോ. പിടിഎം സുനീഷ് പറഞ്ഞു.

Kerala to see first Carbon Neutral event at ICGE-II
Kozhikode, Feb 9 (PTI) Conforming to the global sustainable development agenda, the three-day International Conference on Gender Equality (ICGE) here from February 11, will be the state”s first fully Carbon Neutral event. The Gender Park, under the state”s Department of Women and Child Development, is organising the second edition of ICGE in association with UN Women. Speakers and participants from across the world will take part in the event at the Gender Park campus in Kozhikode, abiding by the COVID-19 safety protocol. The department has decided to bring Sustainability as the core theme of the entire event, at a time when climate change is disrupting the economies and lives across continents.

For the first time, a Kerala-based women startup, which helps in identifying energy-efficient drivers and adopting viable action plans, has signed an agreement with United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles.
Thiruvananthapuram-based Vydyuthi Energy Services (VES) has signed the pact.
Out of the 170 companies from India which had signed for United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles, 64 are from the private sector, a company statement said here.

Even as governments and private companies give precedence to women empowerment, their efforts have a long way to go. True to its principles, startup Vydyuthi Energy Services went a mile ahead and got recognised by the United Nations. They were signed up for the Women Empowerment Principles, thus making it the first startup in the state to get such a recognition.
